Blair from "The Facts of Life" was an early fashion inspiration, her preppy style reflected her old-money status. Penny loafers were key to achieving this look and I had to have a pair. After much begging and cajoling I was able to get a shiny pair of burgandy loafers from the local G.H. Bass & Co. Although resoled once, they lasted from middle-school through college thanks to the supple leather and superior craftsmanship. The Bass Glenbrook, a sexy take on the classic saddle oxford, is on trend for the Fall season and at this price, I can't wait to get a pair in both colors! ($69)
