Funkdafied
While a fan of vintage clothing, particularly from the 40s and 70s, I just can't get down with the vintage shoes. Old clothes can be laundered, but unless they're in unworn condition, nothing can be done to remove the foot-funk and toe-jam from the crevices of a 50-year-old shoe. What to do? Look for contemporary shoes with a vintage-y feel to them. These lovely YSL platform sandals in baseball glove brown leather have a stitch detail and wooden heel reminiscent of the 1970s. Pair with a sleek burgundy halter dress and an armful of bangles for an out-a-sight modern/retro look that won't get you mistaken as an extra from That '70s Show. ($535)
